Applications are invited for the ICTP-IMU Mathematics Visiting Fellowships 2023. Every year ICTP’s Mathematics section offers several fellowships for scientists working in developing countries for short visits to the Centre. This year, the visitor’s programme is partially supported by the International Mathematical Union.
For more than 50 years, the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) has been a driving force behind global efforts to advance scientific expertise in the developing world. Founded in 1964 by the late Nobel Laureate Abdus Salam, ICTP seeks to accomplish its mandate by providing scientists from developing countries with the continuing education and skills that they need to enjoy long and productive careers. ICTP has been a major force in stemming the scientific brain drain from the developing world.
The Fellowship may cover:
- Accommodation costs
- Plus cost of health insurance as applicable depending on the duration of the stay
- Open to scientists of all seniority levels;
- Preference will be given to candidates with research interests matching those of the faculty and postdoctoral fellows of the ICTP Mathematics section.
Applicants are required to provide a brief research plan to be carried out at the Centre plus two letters of recommendation.
