YALI RLC Southern Africa Online Cohort 20 and Hybrid Cohort 24

The YALI RLC Southern Africa Online Cohort 20 and Hybrid Cohort 24 are now accepting applications!Young African leaders between the ages of 18 and 35 are given the opportunity, resources, and training they need by the YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa (RLC SA) to better serve their nations and communities. In addition to sector-specific courses, the program includes online and in-person training in civic leadership, public management, business and entrepreneurship, and public management.

One of the main initiatives to support the upcoming generation of African leaders is the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). The University of South Africa’s Graduate School of Business Leadership in Midrand serves as the host institution for the YALI Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa (RLC-SA). Africa. The RLC-SA aims to create critical thinkers who can solve complex. multidisciplinary problems; foster entrepreneurial and innovative thinking, and encourage cross-border communication and multicultural collaboration.

The programme offers 4-7 weeks of intense online or in-person training in Business and Entrepreneurship, Civic Leadership, Public Management, Education and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) with post training exposure to: Grant Funding Opportunities, Networking, Collaboration, Tools and Resources.

Applications are encouraged from

  • Women
  • Other minority groups
  • Young leaders with disabilities
  • People who are HIV positive or who are living with AIDS
  • Rural based and economically disadvantaged young leaders

Eligibility:

  • Age (18-35)
  • English language proficiency
  • Demonstrate commitment to positively impact their communities, countries, and the African continent
  • Proven experience and track record in Public Management, Business, Entrepreneurship, or Civic Leadership
  • Ability to commit to a two-weeks online and three-weeks residential programme

Eligible Countries:

Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe
