The Allan Gray Makers StartUp Academy is a free eight-month incubation program for ambitious plumbing and electrical companies. Entrepreneurs will receive business training and assistance in launching their ventures. The curriculum will be full-time and on-site, beginning on May 15, 2023. Allan Gray Makers funds the StartUp Academy. This means that all program costs, including a minimal living stipend, are covered, and all you have to provide is your commitment, time, and energy.
Eligibility:
You can apply if you are:
- Age: 18-35
- Must be a South African citizen or hold a permanent residence status.
- Must have completed a relevant learning programme in the Plumbing or Electrical Trades.
- Must qualify to take a trade test (having a trade test certificate is advantageous)
- Location: Johannesburg area
- Industry: Plumbing & Electrical.
- Intentions: Desire to start their own business.
Programme content includes:
1. Training in Entrepreneurial Mindset, New Venture Creation, Marketing and Sales, Business Management, Financial Management, Branding, E-skills for business and Personal Mastery.
2. Opportunities to work in teams and network with other businesses.
3. Access to Personal Mentorship, Business Shadowing, Industry-Expert Coaches and Business Advisory.
4. Access to markets with a focus on making your first sale.
5. Access to Office Space with basic resources.
6. Access to funding to start your business and to write your Trade test
7. Graduates have access to life-long support.
