For the 2024 Oribi x AfriFOODlinks Incubation Program, applications are now being accepted. Based in Cape Town, this initiative is managed by Oribi and powered by AfriFOODlinks. Its objective is to facilitate and assist early-stage entrepreneurs in the agri-food industry in becoming prosperous social entrepreneurs. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on implementing a circular business strategy. This strategy seeks to promote equitable growth and the restructuring of South Africa’s food system.
Benefits:
- Through the AfriFOODlinks Incubation Programme, selected entrepreneurs will gain access to a support system and network designed to help them thrive. This includes mentorship from industry experts, coaching sessions to address specific challenges, networking opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and organizations, and grant funding to scale their social enterprises.
Eligibility:
- If you’re a food entrepreneur based in Cape Town and you’re passionate about creating change and ready to take your business to the next level,
Selection process:
- 4 March 2024 – Application Launch
- 18 April 2024 – Application closes
- May 2024 – 1st shortlisting – 100 candidates will be shortlisted to enter the ‘FOODATHON’ selection process.
- From this group, 15 candidates will be selected to enter the 9 month incubation programme in the second half of 2024
