The fellowship offers complete support (12 months with the option of an additional 12 months) for you to carry out independent research on subjects that are closely related to one or more programmes on IIASA’s agenda.
All countries are welcome to apply for the IIASA Postdoctoral Program, which is designed to train highly competent early-career postdoctoral researchers to conduct research at the IIASA international research institute, which is located close to Vienna, Austria. As a pioneer in systems analysis, IIASA carries out multidisciplinary, policy-oriented research on problems that are too big or complicated to be handled by a single nation or field. International cooperation is required to address these issues, which include climate change, biodiversity, energy security, and sustainable development.
The fellow will not only gain first-hand experience in applying systems analysis to real-world problems and issues but will also have access to a network of international collaborators, many of them with highly successful careers in their own specialized scientific areas, which can help in boosting future career prospects.
