His Highness Muhammad Sanusi II (HH MSII) SDG Challenge 2023 (Win up to $10,000)

Deadline: 21st of May, 2023

Application for the HH MSII SDG Challenge 2023 is currently available. His Majesty In conjunction with 1 Million Teachers, Muhammad Sanusi II, the 14th Emir of Kano and a UN advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), introduced the annual MSII SDG Challenge in 2021. The purpose of this challenge is to inspire and equip teachers to create cutting-edge community initiatives that prioritize SDGs 4 — Quality Education — and 5 — Gender Equality.

Teachers are the first to undergo systemic change in education. All kids may receive the education they deserve if instructors are given the tools to create scalable educational initiatives. To help instructors through the phases of ideation, project implementation, and scaling up, the MSII SDG Challenge focuses on social entrepreneurship principles and systems thinking. Active instructors may participate in the Challenge.

The HH MSII SDG Challenge aims for the provision of high-quality, gender-responsive education to students – particularly girls – in the most deprived regions of the world. They do this by empowering teacher-changemakers with the skills, networks and resources they need to lead innovative and impactful community-based projects. The HH MSII SDG Challenge will unleash the vast untapped potential of Africa’s teachers, by combining their on-the-ground expertise with a dynamic, entrepreneurial support system. The Challenge is more than an incubator or an accelerator – it is an ecosystem catalyst. By providing expertise, resources and support for teachers at various stages of their leadership journey, the Challenge will nurture a grassroots movement of teacher-changemakers.
