FPGA Software Engineering Intern

You’ll be a member of the group creating Intel’s Programmable Solutions Group’s newest FPGA design tools (PSG). We are searching for a motivated, outstanding software engineering intern who will be directly responsible for developing crucial platform components that provide our clients access to unmatched productivity and capabilities. In this profession, there are many opportunities to pick up new abilities and accumulate priceless experience.

The ideal applicant has knowledge in C++ or Python desktop application development.

Depending on the particular requirements of the position, responsibilities may range widely in terms of their technical nature and in terms of their importance, U.S. experience and education requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate clean object-oriented API’s and applications in either C++ or Python.
  • Apply innovative heuristics and algorithms to real-world FPGA problems.
  • Actively contribute to all aspects of the software development process.
  • The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • This internship position has a length of 3 months with the possibility to extend it as per business’ needs.

Qualifications:

Candidate must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position, and it will be compensated accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The candidate must be pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ months of experience in the following:
  • C++ or Java.
  • Python or TCL.
  • Data structures and algorithms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with version control systems like Perforce, CVS, or Git in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Experience with SAT solvers is a plus

Working Model:

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
