Do you reside in Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, or Mauritania as a national or as a refugee? Then you should apply for the DAAD Leadership for Africa scholarship!
The recipient of the scholarship is free to select their course of study and can apply to any German Master’s program that meets their needs. Those who are interested are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility:
Two categories of candidates are welcome to apply
1. Highly qualified refugees who hold refugee status and fulfil the necessary qualifications for Master studies in Germany and the requirements in the call for applications.
Applicants must fulfil the following conditions:

- Holding refugee status in their host countries, being granted before 3rd of April 2023 country of asylum must be either Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast or Mauritania
- Completed Bachelor’s degree
2. Highly qualified graduates from Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast or Mauritania who fulfil
the necessary qualifications for Master studies in Germany and the requirements in the call for
applications.
Applicants must fulfil the following conditions:
- Citizenship of either Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast or Mauritania
- Country of residence Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast or Mauritania
- Completed Bachelor’s degree
Benefits:
Language course (up to 6 months) in Germany before the start of the university studies Tuition-free M.A. or M.Sc. degree programme at a public or state-recognized university in Germany starting in winter term 2025 (September/October 2025).

Application:
Applications for this scholarship are done entirely online. Applicants are to complete their application using the online application portal. Applicants will be required to submit all the application documents by the application deadline.
