University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship 2023

The University of Auckland awards overseas students who have excelled academically in their prior studies with the University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship.

The scholarship is intended to assist and encourage overseas students to enroll in courses at the University of Auckland as they pursue higher education.

Bachelor’s Programs

• Arts and Humanities: This category includes programs in fields such as history, literature, philosophy, and the arts.

Postgraduate Programs

• Doctoral Degrees (Ph.D.): A Ph.D. is the highest level of academic degree that can be earned. It typically takes three to five years of full-time study to complete and involves conducting original research and writing a dissertation.
• Professional Degrees: Professional degrees are designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career in a specific profession, such as law, medicine, or business. They often focus on practical skills and knowledge and may require a combination of coursework and hands-on training.
• Graduate Certificates and Diplomas: Graduate certificates and diplomas are shorter programs that provide specialized training in a particular field. They are often designed for individuals who wish to update their skills or pursue a new career.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for Scholarship consideration, an applicant must

• be an international student.
• be either a new student who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission, or an English Language Academy (ELA) student who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission, and
• be enrolled, or enrolling, full-time in either a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) or masters degree of 120 points or more, excluding masters by thesis, or an undergraduate degree (applying with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications) at Waipapa Taumaa Rau | University of Auckland. Students who have already commenced study at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland , students who have undertaken any tertiarty level study in New Zealand, or students enrolling in a Business master programme in the Graduate School of Management (GSM), excluding the Master of Business Analytics and Master of Supply Chain Management, are not eligible to apply for this Scholarship.
  180 point masters degrees that include a thesis of 90 points or more are not eligible programmes for this Scholarship.
• A grade point equivalent (GPE) of at least 6.00 is required for Scholarship consideration.

Requirements:

5. English language proficiency test score: For non-native English speakers, a valid TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic score report may be required.
