UNICEF Youth Advocates Programme 2024

Applications for the UNICEF Youth Advocates Program for 2024 are currently being accepted. The Youth Advocates program, a new effort to find talent in collaboration with United Nations Volunteers (UNV), has been introduced by UNICEF.UNICEF seeks to enable young people—including those with disabilities—to act as change agents and advocates for the rights of children.

Following the first initiative’s success in 2018–2019, which involved the mobilization of 42 Youth Advocates (18–24 years old) across 27 countries, UNICEF and UNV are currently seeking volunteers for the second cohort.Twenty enthusiastic, youthful, and capable advocates are needed by UNICEF/UNV to work with us as change agents to defend children’s rights.

Benefits:

  • The Youth Advocates Programme offers young people the chance to gain one-year professional experience through a National UN Volunteer (UNV) assignment with UNICEF, while also imparting their valuable insights into the organization’s work for children and young people.
  • The recruited Youth Advocates will have access to learning and professional development opportunities, including a suite of online learning programmes.

Young professionals with disabilities and from under-represented groups are especially encouraged to apply.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (Nexus Resilience and Private sector) – Democratic Republic of Congo
  • Child Protection Officer – UNICEF Liberia
  • Programme Officer (Climate Change and Environment focus on Adolescents) – UNICEF Mozambique
  • Adolescent Health Programme Associate (HIV/AIDS) – UNICEF Namibia
  • Social and Behaviour Change Officer – UNICEF Rwanda
  • Adolescent Health Specialist – UNICEF Sao Tome and Principe
  • Adolescent and Youth Programme officer – UNICEF West and Central Africa Regional Office (Dakar, Senegal)
  • Programme Officer – UNICEF Zimbabwe
