The International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) Youth Forum

The sixth IRENA Youth Forum: The New Generation of Decision Makers will take place in April 2024 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the fourteenth session of the IRENA Assembly (15-18 April 2024). The Assembly is the Agency’s highest decision-making body, where Heads of State/Government, Ministers, and global stakeholders convene to discuss and progress the energy transition.
The IRENA young Forum in 2024 will enhance young networks and bring them together with global thought leaders, government officials, and IRENA professionals. The Forum will provide an opportunity for young people to contribute to the Agency’s purpose of accelerating renewable energy deployment in order to meet climate goals and promote the sustainable development agenda.
Through a series of interactive sessions, including open dialogues and thematic workshops, participants will be able to add a youth perspective to the global energy discourse.
Benefits:
- Upon selection, full sponsorship, including travel and accommodations, will be provided for up to 35 participants.
Requirements:
- The event strives for a global and balanced geographical representation of youth and highly encourages applications from youth in LDCs, SIDS and developing countries.
Application:
- Interested youth between the age of 16 and 35 years can submit their application by completing the application form.
- The deadline for individual applications is 31 January 2024 (at midnight, Abu Dhabi local time). Participants will be selected based on their commitment to accelerating progress on renewable energy deployment.
