Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) Economic Empowerment Programme 2023 for Tunisians (Fully-funded)

Applications are currently being accepted for the Study of the United States Institute’s (SUSI) Economic Empowerment Programme for Student Leaders in 2023. Participants’ understanding of American history, government, institutions, society, and culture within the framework of the topic will be improved through the SUSI on Economic Empowerment.
While exploring subthemes like financial access and inclusion, economic prosperity and opportunity, building sustainable economies, inequities within economies, social entrepreneurship, social capital development, financial literacy, organizational development and management, and preparing for the future of work, participants will receive an overview of the U.S. economic system and its structures.

The Institute will place equal emphasis on American history and modern society, including the ongoing political, social, and economic discussions in a pluralistic society. Through fundamental discussions on entrepreneurship and social capital as well as capacity development workshops, participants will also learn about economic empowerment. These hands-on lessons will cover business modeling, leadership and management abilities, and financial literacy. The five-week course will start at the end of June 2023.

Funding:

The programme is fully funded to the U.S. The five-week programme will take place beginning in late June 2023.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must be Tunisians aged 18-25 years old with no previous experience in the
    United States.
  • Participants must be undergrads who have completed at least one semester of university
    and will have at least one semester remaining in their studies after the end of the SUSI
    programme.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Applications and a copy of your transcripts (no translation required) must be emailed to the U.S. Embassy
at Tunis_exchange@state.gov by December 12, 2022. Late submissions will not be considered. Only
shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
