SRHIN Health Equity Champions Program 2023

The SRHIN Health Equity Champions Program 2023 is now accepting applications. The SRHIN Health Equity Champions (SHEC) program is a volunteer initiative through which the SRHIN identifies, develops, and supports 40 young leaders, generally between the ages of 18 and 30, who will serve as Health Equity Champions for the SRHIN in several Nigerian states.

Slum and Rural Health Initiative (SRHIN) is a nonprofit organization that began operating in 2017 and is legally registered in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia. Using advocacy, research, and technology tools, SRHIN works to increase access to healthcare information and services in Africa, particularly in vulnerable and underserved communities.

These champions will work closely with the SRHIN Nigeria Country Coordinator and will work with the direction and support of the SRHIN Programs team to come up with innovative and exciting ways to improve healthcare delivery in marginalized settings in Nigeria. This is a fantastic opportunity to impact your community, country and the world working with a highly-visible, mission-driven SRHIN volunteers in an incredible, supportive environment. Champions will receive training on how to conduct impactful campaigns and leverage the media for increased impact.

Eligibility:

  • Eligible applicants must be resident in Nigeria.
  • Must be aged 18–30 years.
