The RES4Africa Foundation, in collaboration with Strathmore University, AVSI Foundation, and St. Kizito VTI, and with funding from Enel Foundation, is beginning the 32nd edition of the RES4Africa Academy Technical and Vocational School (previously MGA). The training sessions will take place fully in person from February 19 to 23, 2024.
This edition focuses on Micro-Grid Academy – Module 3: DRE system design, operation and maintenance (O&M), and safety. It aims to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the mini-grids value chain for rural electrification, as well as hands-on learning about renewable energy technologies in laboratories. The target beneficiaries will comprise 25 participants, among students, technicians, operators, managers, entrepreneurs and other RE professionals from all African States, particularly Kenya and East Africa. Applicants under 30 and women of any age are particularly encouraged to apply.
The course will be held physically at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya, with possible field visits and additional practical training at other partners’ facilities also in Nairobi. Lessons will be conducted by local and international experts from academia, TVET, and the public-private sector.
Application:
- Upon successful completion of the training, a certificate of attendance will be granted to the trainees who have attended at least 70% of the total amount of training hours, and successfully completed the final exam and survey.
