Punocracy Prize for Satire 2022 for Young Writers in Nigeria (N50,000 prize)

Deadline: 16th of October, 2022

Punocracy is a group of young satirists in Nigeria that was established in March 2018 with the goals of fostering free speech, fostering critical thinking, and fostering political awareness.

Their goal is to ignite interest in the genre and make satire a widely acknowledged and understood weapon of sociopolitical critique in the nation. They want to foster sarcastic literacy and provide a secure environment for satire creators and fans.

They are looking for submissions for the third edition of the Prize for Satire in order to further these objectives. They contend that satire should receive the same attention as other genres of writing, such as poetry and nonfiction, because it is crucial for forming public opinion and strengthening a country. A healthy rivalry is arguably the best method to achieve this.
