For a PhD position in Aerosol technologies for bioaerosol sampling, detection, and risk management, the Laboratory for Advanced Analytical Technologies is accepting applications.
The study focuses on the creation of aerosol technologies for risk management, bioaerosol sampling, and detection. Human health is at danger from bioaerosols, which include airborne bacteria, viruses, fungus, and fragments of these organisms. Inhaling bioaerosols in even trace levels can have harmful effects on health, including the development of infectious illnesses, allergic disorders, and responses to irritants or poisons. The growing dangers associated with bioaerosols are highlighted by newly emerging hazardous components including antibiotic resistance genes and metal resistance genes.
- To develop active and passive sampling methods for bioaerosols with high efficiencies;
- To apply novel sensors and genetic testing techniques to analyze bioaerosols;
- To investigate the effects of environmental factors on transmission of bioaerosols;
- To investigate the technologies for bioaerosol inactivation.
Eligibility :
- a master level degree in biochemistry, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields
- excellent grades
- Good experimental capability is of high value.
- Good command of English is required.
