ORS Collaborative Exchange Grants

The Orthopaedic Research Society is a leading international research society  established to accelerate musculoskeletal discovery in improving health. The ORS community is multi-disciplinary and is comprised of members from academia, industry/private sector, government, and private practice at all career levels from around the world.

Benefits

  • Financial funding of $5,000 per grant. (The ORS Committee will determine how many applicants will be funded and the total dollar amount awarded to each applicant)

Eligibility

    • Must be an ORS member in good standing
    • ORS members living outside the US can apply
    • Applications will be accepted from applicants at all stages of their career.
    • The period of exchange is expected to be for a minimum of 2 weeks and may be spread over more than 1 visit. Support for longer periods of exchange are also welcomed.

Application

Important documents to be submitted must include:

  • A 2 pages letter outlining the purpose of the visit, including a brief description of the area of intended collaboration, and the likely knowledge/skill, or collaborative outcome anticipated by the visit, and what impact the visit will likely have on their career
  • A 2-page biosketch
  • A letter from the hosting institution confirming support for the visit/exchange
  • A budget form indicating the level of funding requested and a breakdown of the costs into travel, accommodation, and living expenses (Please use this budget template.)

Successful applicants must submit a brief report of the outcome of your exchange visit, indicating the research benefits you achieved through the grant. This summary may be included in an ORS newsletter and other promotional material.
