MSchools Labs: Call For Solutions For Startups Fostering Digital Improvement And Transformation Of Education

Deadline: 6th of February, 2024

The operations and curriculum of educational institutions have not always reflected the significant and quick changes in society that have occurred in recent years.

Spain led the European Union in early school dropout rates in 2022 (13.9%), which were correlated with subpar academic achievement. Experts partially blame the extreme rigidity and lack of flexibility in the Spanish educational system for this failure. Learning pathways in schools are often uniform in order to adhere to a single curriculum and do not take into account students’ varied and unique surroundings, interests, or goals.

Educational success and learning are correlated, among other factors, with motivation. Motivation increases if learnings are meaningful and provide personal value to the learner, contributing to their self-knowledge, a better understanding of their reality and the active construction of a future with scenarios that involve them and enhance their capabilities.

Personalised learning approaches are a recurring topic in any discourse aimed at promoting innovation and educational quality in the new global context and are key to the path towards quality education.
