The goal of this competitive fellowship is to support the next wave of economic academics who are prepared to tackle today’s policy issues and advance economic prosperity on a worldwide scale. A competitive full-time fellowship program, the PhD Fellowship is available to George Mason University doctorate candidates in economics. Their PhD Fellows work on projects that employ these perspectives to analyze global prosperity and social change while taking courses in public choice, market process economics, and institutional analysis. Tenure-track posts at colleges and institutions across the United States and Europe have been obtained by successful PhD fellows. Fellows will join a network of Mercatus students, alumni, and scholars who are conducting and engaging with cutting edge research in contemporary political economy.

Eligibility:
- Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in economics or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Applicants must have a strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
