The United Nations Foundation is a charitable organization headquartered in Washington, DC that supports the United Nations and its activities. It was established in 1998 with a $1 billion gift to the United Nations by philanthropist Ted Turner, who believed the UN was crucial for addressing the world’s problems.
Now applications are open for 20 Internships at The United Nations Foundation. Internships are presently available for the spring, summer, and fall semesters. Approximately two months before each semester’s start, internships are announced. If there aren’t any openings posted right now, come back later to the United Nations

Through their initiatives, they help girls develop a broader range of social impact skills, access a platform for sharing their stories, and use STEM for social good. Their female leaders help generate millions of dollars to fund United Nations programs that reach tens of thousands of girls worldwide, develop community-based movements, and promote meaningful policy change at the local and national levels. The United Nations Foundation established Girl Up in 2010 and is still working with a wide range of partners to promote gender equality on a global scale.

Essential Purposes

  • Support the development of digital resources, activities, toolkits, and video content for a global audience as part of Girl Up’s issue-area programming, including but not limited to.
  • Work closely with the program associate to support the planning, organization, and execution of Climate Change resources, STEM and Sports Girl Awards promotion, Sports for a Purpose Bootcamps, Climate Change resources, and other activities, including monitoring and evaluation procedures for 2022 STEM project awardees.
  • Assist with executing Girl Up’s Leadership Course and related youth-focused training and events by working closely with the senior associate for programs and learning.
  • Participate in routine working group meetings and help create presentations and reference materials for essential subject areas.
  • To influence future programming and strategic planning for Girl Up’s critical gender equality problems, including but not limited to Sexual Reproductive Health Rights & Justice and Gender-Based Violence, assistance with logistics and organization for youth-centered focus groups is needed.
  • Look up relevant published works and other educational resources about the central gender equality issues raised by Girl Up.
  • Collaborate with the learning and training team to assist with data administration, analysis, and collecting.
  • More tasks as needed.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be a recent college or university graduate (within eight months of graduation) or enrolled in a program leading to a degree during the internship.
  • commitment to Girl Up’s purpose and guiding principles.
  • shown understanding of the principles and procedures of instructional programming.
  • The capacity for both critical and creative thought.
  • The capacity to address problems and take necessary remedial action.
  • Autonomous self-starter
  • Experience with and a clear interest in developing young leaders.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities and a love of member involvement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Asana, Canva, and Outlook is desirable.
  • Responsible, adaptable, and diligent.
  • Enjoyable, kind, and cooperative
  • The capacity to handle stress and work under pressure.
  • Ability to adhere to the tardiness and attendance rules.
  • Internet connectivity and a personal laptop computer are required.
  • Must be able to work up to 29 hours a week, ideally spaced out over five days.
  • Must have the right to work in the USA.
