International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA) Global Mentorship Programme 2023

For the IFBA Global Mentorship Programme 2023, applications are now being accepted. A global project called the IFBA Global Mentorship Programme was created to help and assist the community of international biosafety and biosecurity professionals.

As it develops worldwide biosafety and biosecurity capacity, the initiative, now in its third cycle, has produced noteworthy results and earned a good reputation. Selected changes to the program’s content and delivery have been made for 2023 in order to maximize program impact and sustainability. These changes were made in response to detailed feedback from previous participants as well as taking into account emerging priorities across the global biosafety and biosecurity landscape.

IFBA Global Mentors, who possess at least two IFBA Professional Certifications, will continue to serve as vital technical resources for mentees in their region. They will work with other mentors and mentees to write concise technical briefs on fundamental and developing issues in international biosafety and biosecurity. They will also mentor their mentees through group projects or publications during the course of the program.

Benefits:

  • IFBA Global Mentors and Mentees are brought together to discuss regional and global issues and opportunities pertaining to biosafety, biosecurity, and biorisk management.
  • Mentees will receive guidance in obtaining IFBA Professional Certifications and other career
    developing skills, and mentors may put their experience towards renewing their existing
    IFBA Professional Certification.

Eligibility:

  • Open to emerging biosafety professionals from around the world.
  • IFBA Mentee applicants do not need to have an IFBA Professional certification.

Application:

To apply, Global Mentors must have the following:

  • At least two (2) IFBA Professional Certifications;
  • An up-to-date copy of their professional CV;
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from an employer, supervisor, or similar; and,
  • A completed IFBA Global Mentor application.
