HFSP Postdoctoral Fellowships Program 2023

Deadline: 11th of May, 2023

The HFSP Postdoctoral Fellowships Program is now accepting applications from adequately qualified applicants who desire to participate. Postdoctoral grants from the HFSP enable early-career scientists to extend their research abilities by shifting into new fields of study while working in a different nation.

The HFSP fellowship program funds applications for cutting-edge, possibly game-changing research in the life sciences. Applications for high-risk initiatives are especially welcome. The projects should be multidisciplinary in character and should use fresh ideas and methodologies to challenge prevailing paradigms. They should address a significant scientific topic or a hindrance to advancement in the subject.

There are two different fellowships are available:

Long-Term Fellowships (LTF) are for applicants with a PhD on a biological topic who want to embark on a novel and frontier project focussing on the life sciences.

Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships (CDF) are for applicants who hold a doctoral degree from a non-biological discipline (e.g. physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering or computer sciences) and who have not worked in the life sciences before.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for HFSP Postdoctoral Fellowships Program, applicants are expected to meet the following conditions:

For those institutions that are not classified as national, i.e. international or extraterritorial institutions such as EMBL, ICPT or ICGEB, the country in which the laboratory is located will be considered the host country.
