Postgraduate students from southern Africa who meet the necessary requirements are presently invited to apply to Heriot-Watt University to participate in the Denis Goldberg Scholarship Program. This initiative is designed to assist South Africans who have encountered obstacles in their quest for higher education.

35 postgraduate students from Southern Africa will get the scholarships over a three-year period in order to attend Heriot-Watt for a life-changing education. Each scholarship costs £12,000 for three years.

The Denis Goldberg Scholarship Program seeks to promote Southern African students’ enrollment and retention in Heriot-Watt University’s postgraduate programmes in energy, geoscience, infrastructure, and society by:

  • By establishing a ground-breaking program of scholarships for up to 35 students with a focus on EGIS study areas,
  • Through Heriot-Watt alumni and solid business relationships across Southern Africa and beyond, this service offers the chance for mentorship and networking.
  • Creating linkages within local communities in Southern Africa through working with local stakeholders,
    eventually growing the scholarship program to collaborate with other Heriot-Watt colleges to offer a larger selection of courses.
  • The Denis Goldberg Scholarship Program will aid underprivileged postgraduate students from Southern Africa in enrolling in courses at their school of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure, and Society (EGIS), and progress onto rewarding careers and leaderships roles in the energy industry in Southern Africa.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for Heriot-Watt University Denis Goldberg Scholarship Program, you are expected to meet the following conditions:

  • Applicants must be a South African
  • Applicants must be a postgraduate students
  • Applicants must enrol in a full-time degree program
  • Applicants must have a bachelors degree certificate or equivalents
