The George Washington Carver Internship Programme – Spring 2023 is now accepting applications. The George Washington Carver Internship with the World Food Prize Foundation offers students interested in global concerns of hunger, poverty, and development an unrivaled professional experience.
Interns at George Washington Carver (GWC) receive first-hand knowledge of both the public and private aspects of running a global non-profit organization and deepen their comprehension of the global struggle against hunger, malnutrition, and poverty.
GWC Interns become an integral part of this highly regarded organization by working one-on-one with a staff mentor and interacting with World Food Prize Laureates, government representatives, international experts in science and agriculture, business and industry leaders, and members of the local and national media. GWC interns represent a range of academic specialties, and internship positions will be tailored to a person’s experience, aptitude, and field of interest.
Stipend:
Interns can work on-site in Des Moines, Iowa, or remotely and are compensated with a
stipend of $1,500 per internship period.
Eligibility:
- Open to highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students;
- Applicant must have a strong academic background, a solid work ethic, a capacity for
analytical thinking, impeccable attention to detail and excellent oral and written
communication skills; - They are enthusiastic and flexible learners, capable of both taking direction and working
independently; - Applicants must be proficient in English to be considered for placement.
