For the George Atkins Communications Award 2024, applications are now being accepted. The George Atkins Communications Award honors specific radio broadcasters for their exceptional dedication to and contribution to ensuring food security and eradicating poverty in low-income nations.
It bears George Atkins’ name, who founded Farm Radio International. Each year, broadcasters that exhibit overall proficiency in meeting the requirements of small-scale farmers as well as a strong cooperation with Farm Radio International are given this award.
- The broadcasters who win the George Atkins Communications Award receive a certificate and a prize of $500 CA.
To be eligible for the award:
- You must work at a radio station that has been a Farm Radio International broadcasting partner for a minimum of one year.
- You must have at least three years of experience as a radio broadcaster. This includes time spent volunteering as a broadcaster.
