ETH Zurich Innovation Partnership Grants 2022 (Up to 20,000 CHF)

This partnership is organized ETH Zurich Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. The innovation partnership grants fund the collaboration of Swiss researchers from federal and cantonal universities, universities of applied sciences, universities of teacher education, or public research institutes with non-academic innovation agents in China, Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN member states. The goal is to;

  • Establish a long-term consulting or training partnership between two institutions (for example, management training for an Asian innovation agent conducted by a Swiss university of applied sciences)
  • Pilot technology or product development activities (for example, the creation of a prototype incorporating Swiss knowledge)
  • Reverse engineering projects (for example, obtaining knowledge from Asia for educational purposes).
  • Develop a collaborative R&D project proposal for submission to a national or international innovation-related funding agency (e.g., Innosuisse)

Grants

  • The award is limited to a total of 20,000 CHF.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to all scientific disciplines and research sectors, including the social sciences and humanities.
  • Postdoctoral scientists, senior scientists, and professors from Swiss federal and cantonal universities, universities of applied sciences, universities of teacher education, and public research institutes are eligible to apply.
  • The main applicant must be a Swiss citizen working at one of the aforementioned Swiss institutions. As the main applicant, researchers of all nationalities are welcome to apply.
  • Non-academic innovation agent partners must be senior personnel from a partner nation company, start-up, hospital, innovation park, or similar organization.
  • As third parties, universities from the partner countries may participate.

  • Research proposal form incl. budget
  • CV of Switzerland-​based main applicant (and potential co-applicants) (max. 2 pages each)
  • CV of Asian co-​applicant
  • Any other supporting document(s)

    How to apply for ETH Zurich Innovation Partnership Grants?

    The prospective applicant from Switzerland must apply to ETH Zurich as the Leading House Asia. The application is submitted online and is divided into two parts;

    • Submit your application details online using the application form.
    • Upload your application form and the needed appendices in a single pdf document via the online application form.

    Applications that do not adhere to the mandatory two parts and/or the one single pdf document criteria will be automatically rejected.
