Durham University International Scholarships

Year of Entry: Scholarships are available for studies commencing in 2022/23, 2023/24, or 2024/25.

Durham University is offering a range of International Scholarships to students from Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Vietnam, aiming to start their undergraduate or  postgraduate studies in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Benefits

  • A scholarship discount of £5,000 per year tuition fee.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must have nationality in one of the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Vietnam
  • Applicants must be able to self-fund and international fee payers only in order to be eligible for this tuition fee discount.
  • Applicants are not permitted to pay with employer, private provider, government body or be in receipt of another Durham University scholarship (e.g. Team Durham), such applicants will not be considered for a scholarship.
  • Applicants must be willing to disclose external funding failure to do so will invalidate any scholarship offering. Please note, this does not include the Postgraduate Master’s Loan.
  • Applicants must be willing to participate and cooperate in marketing and communications activities (Scholarship Commitments) for their Faculty/Durham University. This may include testimonials and public relations opportunities, as well as being involved in and attending Open Events, Webinars or being a class representative.

Requirement

To be considered for one of the Undergraduate or Postgraduate Taught Durham University International Scholarships (tuition fee discounts) for 2022 entry;

  • Applicants must have completed the appropriate programme application process.
  • Applicants must be in receipt of a conditional offer.

Important Information

  • The following programmes aren’t available for scholarships; All Business School programmes at all levels, Undergraduate Law programmes, Second year of a taught postgraduate programme, PGCE, PGCERT (Education), MA – Conservation of Archaeological and Museum Objects, All research postgraduate programmes
  • Scholars who withdraw from their Scholarship Commitments or from the University will have all future scholarship discounts cancelled
  •  

    Scholars who suspend their Scholarship Commitments or academic studies will have all future scholarship discounts cancelled. Please note that only under exceptional circumstances e.g. medical reasons, and at the sole discretion of the Faculty Executive Dean, approval may be given for discounts to recommence after suspended studies continue.

  • Scholarships (tuition fee discounts) are not transferable and not deferrable. They are valid only for use by scholarship winners in the academic year for which the scholarship has been awarded.
  • Applicants who choose to defer entry will be considered for scholarships available in the year of entry.
  • Acceptance of a scholarship before deferral does not guarantee a scholarship offer during the subsequent year of entry.
  • Once an offer of a place is made to an applicant, they will automatically be considered for a scholarship without the need for a separate application process to be completed.
  •  

    Only successful candidates will be notified of scholarship (tuition fee discount) decisions.

  •  

    Scholarship (tuition fee discount) decisions are at the discretion of the International Office and all decisions are final.

  •  

    There is no cash alternative to be offered if a place on the programme is not taken up.
