Contrary Sabbatical Programme 2022 for Students & Professionals (Up to $250,000)

This is a program designed to help you quit your job or drop out of school to build an iconic startup of your own.

For the past two years, Contrary Capital has ran programs focused on identifying and supporting ambitious builders before their startups even exist. They will support Sabbatical founders like any other portfolio company: with connections to operators who have scaled companies from zero to thousands of employees, a diverse network of potential hires, and tactical advice from the team.

Benefits

Through Contrary Sabbatical, 5 teams will receive:

  • Funding: Up to $250,000 to build your company.
  • Tactical Support: Calls with the Contrary investing team, access to a diverse network of potential hires, introductions to operators who have scaled companies to thousands of employees and more.
  • Workspaces: Depending on the city, an office space to work out of.

Eligibility

  • Anyone can apply. Tech employees and Students. The only requirement is that you commit to spending a full year with pure focus on your company.
  • They have no industry or geographic preferences, and are open to backing international founders.

Application

All applications are due by August 31, and will be considered on a rolling basis. If you need to make a decision imminently, also note that in your application, and they will fast-track it.
