Call for Proposals: UNDP Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) Initiative 2022

Are you a cooperative, not-for-profit organisation, business member association, or community-based group in a developing nation with creative, locally-led ideas for increasing climate adaptation? For a grant through the ACFIA programme, apply right away.

The second request for ideas for small grant funding for the Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA), run by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is now open.

Through the adoption and dissemination of cutting-edge locally-led adaptation techniques, tools, and technology, the awards’ primary goal is to strengthen local climate action and hasten the achievement of the targets established in the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.

The UNDP-administered AFCIA grant window, which counts with an additional financial contribution from the European Union, is managed through the AF-EU-UNDP Innovation Small Grant Aggregator Platform (ISGAP) Programme. The ISGAP Programme provides funding to applicants on a competitive basis, with selected grantees to operate and manage their projects by themselves with support from UNDP.

Grants

  • $60,000 – for new, piloting projects, new solutions, new technology innovations, social innovations.
  • $125,000 – for organizations with established customers/beneficiaries base to scale-up or replicate solutions in different regions/spaces.

Eligibility

  • Open to not-for-profit organizations, civil society organizations including NGOs, business member associations and other associations, cooperatives, and community-based organizations registered in a developing country.
