Call for Mentors: KaggleX BIPOC Mentorship Programme 2022

They are searching for volunteers who are enthusiastic about assisting young data scientists in their professional development. Do you want to help others and have a positive impact on the world? You have the chance now!

This initiative aims to improve the representation of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Color) people in the data science field, open up employment options, and foster personal development. This will be accomplished by pairing Kagglers in the early stages of their careers with mentors at the senior and advanced levels, creating a forum for career-related conversation and educational opportunities.

Eligibility

  • Passionate about mentoring and aligned with the programme’s mission;
  • At least 3 years of experience working as an industry professional or researcher in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning;
  • Proficient in R or Python;
  • Available for the duration of the programme (3-4 months);
  • Able to participate in weekly check-ins;
  • Able to provide guidance for mentee goals and projects;
  • Committed to engage with broader KaggleX community;
  • (Optional) Able to lead career and/or educational seminars.

The duration of the programme for Cohort 2 is from December 2022 – April 2023.
